Riot Grrrl Series: "The Punk Singer" Watch Party

3/8/2021

6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Online via Zoom

Riot Grrrl Series:

Join us for a punk-tastic series of events for our Women’s Herstory/Women in Power Month, hosted by the Jean Miller Resource Room for Women, Genders and Sexuality. This series will focus on the role of punk, and more specifically the work of the Riot Grrrl Collective, in late 20th-century feminist movements. We’ll also discuss ways to bring Riot Grrrl feminism into 21st-century intersectional feminist movements.

See and experience the power of women taking control of cultural production. We’ll learn some history, listen to some music – and make some art of our own. Join us on Zoom!

Kicking off the series on International Women’s Day, we'll learn about riot grrrl legend Kathleen Hanna by watching “The Punk Singer,” a documentary about her life.
