Literary Analysis (Grades 6-8)

This is a recurring event.
Following a review of basic literary elements, students will analyze several short stories and poems, answering (in writing) questions designed to test basic comprehension as well as critical thinking. The final assignment is a guided book report, on a book (fiction, grade-appropriate) of their own choice, which they will be required to read independently over the eight weeks of class. While all written assignments will be completed during class hours, students may need to read the short stories on their own before coming to class. All topics are based on Common Core Curriculum.
