Requesting Technology Projects - October 3, 2011
October 3, 2011
Hello everyone,
I hope your Fall Quarter is starting well. I am writing to let you know about a
new process that ETS is implementing to better manage user requests for technology
projects, provide more transparency, and ensure that resources are applied to requests
of most value to the district and students. Because ETS receives many more requests
for technology development than we have resources to respond to, ETS has initiated
a new process to prioritize projects that are requested by users.
For this process, we have defined a project as any user request for technology development
requiring more than 40 hours of labor or more than $5,000 to complete. All other requests
should continue to be submitted through the call center.
Our new process will ask the college Technology Task Force committees and a similar central services committee to prioritize user-requested
projects; these lists will be consolidated into a single prioritized list by a district
level committee (representing the colleges and centrals services). ETS will work on
projects according to this list.
You can find a full description of the new process, a list of current projects and
their status, and a form that you can submit to request new projects at: http://ets.fhda.edu/itproject.
Have a great Fall term!
