Welcome to COOL 26/27!
- James welcomes everyone to COOL! Everyone attending introduces themselves and everyone is joyfully welcomed.
- Review of the committee charge and a brief overview of membership duties
Spring Work Review
- Proctoring Review: A brief review of the recommendations made during Spring. Senate did not approve as they had other issues become top priority. Will likely be brought back during this quarter and require a review due to updated regulations
- Support during outage and technical guidance: These documents are to support faculty in case of another long outage.
- FERPA/Merging: Updated for new procedures during Fall quarter. FERPA requirements are not new, but the merging process has been updated to fit auto-provisioning.
- AI Survey: The research office ran a survey to take in AI feedback from students during Winter quarter. Amy and Lisa followed that up with a student panel and workshop during opening day.
AI Summer Taskforce Update from Dr. Marina Aminy

- Dr. Marina Aminy presented on updates from the work that took place over the summer and the timeline of past, present, and future work
- The district has been updating a list of all the different work groups and projects related to AI and their maturation levels.
- The updated guidelines will be shared with Academic Senate during October. COOL members are invited to give feedback
Fall Priorities & New Projects
- Accessibility is a priority for our PD plan. Idea to form discipline specific workgroups.
- Online Ed will work on recertification plan for accessibility workshops.
- Courses are increasing in size and online ed will look into archiving/deleting old courses.
- POCR has been updated and we will need to update our campus procedure.
