Data Abstraction and Structures


Course Description

Application of software engineering techniques to the design and development of large programs, including a team project, with an emphasis on data abstraction and structures and associated algorithms: stacks, queues, linked lists, trees, graphs, and hash tables. This course also covers recursion and advanced sorting algorithms.

CIS -022C-03Y: HYBRID, meets on-campus and online. ALL CLASS EXAMPLES AND ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE IN PSEUDOCODE OR C++. STUDENT PROGRAMMING ASSIGNMENTS ARE ACCEPTED IN C++ ONLY. The lecture meets each week as noted in the class listing. The laboratory does not have scheduled meetings and can be completed independently each week on the student's own time. Students must have access to a computer, the internet and an individual email address. Most De Anza classes will use the Canvas course management system.
